Our Breaking Barriers Mountain Bike Skills Clinics are Free to Attend!

MTS Advocates for Mountain Biking to Be Inclusive and Open to All Communities.

Every year, Marin Trail Stewards sponsors and hosts Breaking Barriers Mountain Biking Skills Clinics. Led by Brian Astell of Trailworks and other community coaches and mentors, these clinics help riders progress in the fundamental skills that will improve their riding and boost confidence. Trailworks teaches cornering, getting up over objects, technical down-hilling skills, and bike handling.

The skills clinics are completely free to attendees with the aim of advancing representation in the Marin mountain bike community. The clinics are open to riders of all skill levels, and representing all communities. Spots are limited, and we encourage those who are in minority communities to sign up!

Check our calendar for more information about upcoming clinics!

MOUNTAIN BIKERS ARE THE SECOND LARGEST USER GROUP IN MARIN’S PUBLIC LANDS.

Surveys conducted in 2011-2012 by MMWD and MCOSD put the number anywhere from 23-30%. In the last seven years, that percentage has steadily risen.

We are happy and willing to lead the way in trail stewardship and environmental protection with our growing demographic and enthusiastic volunteer corps.
