Caballo Rojo Trail
After more than a decade of planning, permitting, and collaboration (and over $650,000 invested by the Marin Trail Stewards community) Caballo Rojo Trail is officially open!
Caballo Rojo is a downhill-only flow trail that adds another descent out of Tamarancho off Goldman trail, providing riders with a dedicated downhill option that enhances safety and trail flow within the Tamarancho trail system. The trail winds its way down to the lower section of Iron Springs Road, offering a fun, purpose-built riding experience while reducing user conflicts.
Construction on Phase 2 began in August 2025 and was completed thanks to the support of the City, County, generous landowners, and countless volunteers who helped bring this long-awaited project to life.
Caballo Rojo represents years of advocacy, stewardship, and community investment—and we’re proud to see it open and ridden.
